Now, we uncover the life of Thomas Cranmer, who went from a peaceful life at Cambridge University, to becoming the Archbishop of Canterbury - albeit in a very unconventional way. He was then taken prisoner in the Tower of London because of his Protestant beliefs, and unfortunately died a martyr’s death in Oxford. He was of the highest profile of all those who died during Mary Tudor’s gruesome reign, but perhaps the most courageous at the end.
