Next, we look into the Spanish Armada, where Rome wanted to establish a catholic monarchy to replace the Anglican church that Elizabeth I had set up, and attempted to do this through a military invasion. In 1588, the Spanish Armada was one of the largest fleets ever assembled, and yet they never accomplished what they set out to do. They were defeated by a mix of factors, and England survived the attempted invasion and an attempt to change England from Protestantism back to Catholicism.
